Leader: How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!

People: It is like the precious oil on the head, running down upon the beard of Aaron, running down over the collar of his robes.

Leader: It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion.

People: For there the Lord ordained his blessing, life forevermore.

*Call to Confession (adapted from Hebrews 4.14, 16)

Since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us with confidence approach the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Let us ask God to forgive us.

*Silent Prayer

*Prayer of Confessio

Our merciful God, we confess our sinfulness this day and admit that we do not always live according to your will. We are often selfish and ignore the needs of others. We corrupt what is good and allow what is evil to gain a foothold in our lives. Forgive us, Father, when we fail to recognize your holy presence. Forgive us when we choose sin and separation over faithfulness and unity. Lord, give us the strength this day to repent of our sins and be renewed by the transforming of our hearts and minds in the image of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
