*Call to Confession (adapted from Isaiah 59.12-13)

Our transgressions before God are many and our sins testify against us. Our transgressions indeed are with us, and we know our iniquities: transgressing, and denying the Lord, and turning away from following our God. Let us seek God’s forgiveness.

*Silent Prayer

*Prayer of Confession

Almighty God, forgive us our sins and shortcomings this day. Too often we have allowed fear and selfishness to rule our lives instead of you. We get so caught up in our own self-preservation and perspective that we leave little room for the working of your  Spirit. Forgive us, Lord, and grant us your gifts of love and self-sacrifice, of humility and objectivity, that we might become better listeners and doers of your Word. All this we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, who with you and the Holy Spirit, reigns forever. Amen.
